Owner/Senior Hairstylist

Carol is an expert hairstylist with more than 34 years in the hair industry. She has been a salon owner for 32 years and has travelled the world to expand her skill set. She has mentored many apprentices over the years. If she is not at the salon or at one of her sons hockey games she is probably at the gym.

MAT

Owner/Senior Hairstylist

Mat is co-owner of Tonic Spa & Hair. He has studied the art of hair in Paris, Berlin, Pfotrzheim and Canada. Mat loves to offer his guests the best in hair, nails and skin services surrounded by a warm, friendly, fun and safe environment. “I Love to give a helping hand and share a smile.”

Hi, I’m Hilda. I love fashion as much as I love hair. “They are ever changing and I love it.” I have perfected my skills across North America and Jamaica. I have been at Tonic for 21 years. I also enjoys travel, sports, gardening and family.

I am Athena. I’ve been in the beauty industry for many years and love it all. Trendy Colors and cuts or Make-up for that special day. If I’m not at work I’m likely with my son. They are my world. See you soon.

She has a great sense of style and is passionate about keeping up to date with what’s on trend and is always learning new techniques. She enjoys building a relationship with each client and creating a look that is true to them. “

Anita has been with Tonic Spa and Hair for many years. She specializes in pedicures, facials, electrolysis, waxing and threading. In fact she was the first person in Winnipeg to offer this service at a spa. She offers her clients the ultimate in customer service and has been since 1992.

AMANDA

Aesthetician

My name is Amanda. I have been an aesthetician for 4 years. Although I love everything about aesthetics my forte is gel nail enhancements, manicures, pedicures and waxing. Being a part of all my clients self care routine is what I enjoy most at Tonic. I love having the ability to enhance someone’s natural beauty, boosting someone’s confidence and building a relationship with everyone that sits in my chair.

MIRANDA

Junior Nail Technician

My name is Miranda. I've always dreamed of becoming a Nail Tech, and in July 2019 my dream became reality when I graduated from The Salon Professional Academy of Winnipeg. While in school, I won a nail art competition, completed multiple advanced gel classes and graduated with Honors. Since graduating I have been employed at Tonic. As of 2020 I became a fully licensed Nail Technician. I am a perfectionist and I take pride in making sure that all my clients have nails that are of the highest quality work. I keep up to date with all current nail enhancement trends and I love doing any sort of nail art my clients come in with. Looking forward to what the future holds and seeing you in my chair.

HOLISTIC THERAPY

LINDA GOLIS

I was born and raised in Winnipeg. I attended both University of Winnipeg and University of Manitoba where I obtained a B.A., B.Ed and a P.B.C.E. in Educational Psychology. I have spent 25 years in the education system as both teacher and counselor. I have been a Reiki practioner since 2007. I am a certified Karuna Reiki Master and Teacher. I am also certified in Ayurveda Head Massage, Access Bars, and Hand and Foot Reflexology. In 2019 I completed training as a Hypnotherapist.

I believe first and foremost in people. I believe everyone has the ability to live to their full potential and achieve happiness and satisfaction in their lives. I believe everyone has the power to change and through a therapy tailored to client directed goals those changes are possible.

RECEPTION

CASSANDRA

I am Cassandra. I started at Tonic wanting more experience in the beauty industry and have been a client at Tonic for over a year. I am passionate about people and beauty based products.

WAMEED

Wameed is one of our newest and youngest additions to the team. Wameed is a warm and welcoming individual as she will be the first person you see upon arrival, the first to answer your questions, and the last person to see you walk out with a smile and a great new look.

“Being a receptionist is fun! It’s easy for me to connect with all of our clients, and over time, our regular comers become more like life-long friends rather than acquaintances. Catching up on life, work and everything in between with any client walking through our doors is just one of the many reasons I enjoy working here. As a side-note, I love anything product related! Hi, I’m Brikay. I’ve always had a passion and interest in the beauty industry which led me to goto hair school. I’ve been a stylist for 5 years but recently have taken a break from hair. I have over 4 years of experience in reception. My love and interest for the beauty industry continues to grow everyday and the time I had away from it made me realized how much I needed to come back and be apart of it again. I love providing great customer service and making clients/ customers happy whether thats behind the chair or behind a desk.
